When you reach my age, it seems likely that you might be a reasonable judge of character. How wrong can you be?
My car, whilst parked and switched off, was driven into by a man in a manure coloured Fiat - just a thought, is it only Fiat that make manure coloured cars these days?. Fearing that he might "do a runner" we jumped out of the car but re-parked and stopped for a chat. He was in late middle age and dressed to match - possibly someone's grandad. He gave us the name of his Insurance company and we noted the number of the car. He admitted liability. However, he did not give us his address and gave us a false e-mail address. We arranged a quote and awaited approval to repair the car.
Unfortunately he had lied to his insurance company. He also expected me to simply pay for the repair or allow my Insurance company to do so. This is premeditated theft in my view. So be very careful of manure coloured Fiats in the Wymondham area and never ever trust the driver if he is late middle aged - it might be Mr...........!
